Dolls

Old Dolls emanate a special kind of magic. They provide an insight into the childhood of long-gone generations and awake fond memories. An old railway wagon at the entrance takes you directly into the world of the 19th century. The tour leads from static elegant Ladies, coming from France, to dolls, created by Käthe Kruse, that were made to actually play with. Discover rare and precious dolls, sometimes in original dresses with surprising accessories. The history of dolls chronicles changes in education and in fashion as well as in the functionality of toys. You would like to be active yourself? Go on and “feel” the different types of dolls, join the doll quiz or write your own doll story for us. Historical toys and books at our activity center invite younger and older children to play and linger.
