Nativity Scenes

11 big crèches from 4 centuries and a number of smaller nativity sets, single crib figurines and precious monastic art work embellish the crib exposition. The exhibits, as an expression of religious culture, represent lay piety. The presentation reflects mainly the tradition of crèches in the “Werdenfelser Land”, like the native snow crèche from Oberammergau or the Werdenfelser home crib by Sepp Strodl. In addition, the Werdenfelser Krippenfreunde.e.V. show among others a delicate nativity set made of paper from Tyrolia dated 18th century and oriental nativity scenes.
